This is accomplished by allowing a user to generate and manage their account keys via other wallets that support WAX Blockchain and then setting Owner and Active permissions on their Cloud Wallet blockchain account to those keys. Soft Claim process gives users full control over their Cloud Wallet blockchain accounts while maintaining My Cloud Wallet system permissions to continue to provide its full benefits. Feature 2: Hard Claim — Full Control and My Cloud Wallet disconnect
The Hard Claim feature is for those users who want to assume full control of their Cloud Wallet blockchain account and stop using My Cloud Wallet ecosystem and its features. Similarly to Soft Claim, first users assume full control of their Cloud Wallet blockchain account using an external wallet like Anchor Wallet by generating and managing their account keys and then setting Owner and Active permissions on their Cloud Wallet account to those keys. Second, all My Cloud Wallet permissions are removed from that blockchain account. Users will no longer be able to use My Cloud Wallet to manage their accounts. However, Hard Claimed accounts can always be reconnected back to My Cloud Wallet ecosystem, putting them in the Soft Claim state (see Feature 3: Link Account).

Account Linking feature has been designed for those users who executed Hard Claim and realized that they miss the convenience and flexibility of My Cloud Wallet system. This feature allows users to reconnect Cloud Wallet blockchain accounts that have been Hard Claimed back to the My Cloud Wallet system. This process puts such accounts in Soft Claim state giving users full control over their Cloud Wallet blockchain accounts while maintaining My Cloud Wallet system permissions to continue to provide its full benefits.

To utilize the Soft Claim feature, follow these simple steps within My Cloud Wallet’s settings:
Go to Settings and select Soft Claim.
Input the owner key and active key of the WAX external wallet you want to co-own your blockchain account with.
Verify the ownership of the keys by clicking on the verify button. You’ll then need to sign an authentication transaction on the external wallet.
After successful signing, input the 2FA OTP from your Authenticator App. If you haven’t set up 2FA, you’ll receive an ‘one-time password’ via email.
After inputting the OTP, the system will finalize the setup, and you’ll receive a success message. Your account is now linked to the external wallet, granting you easy access and management of your WAX assets.
Feature 2: Hard Claim — Full Control and My Cloud Wallet disconnect
For those seeking to fully disconnect from the My Cloud Wallet system, the Hard Claim feature is the way to go. Here’s how to utilize it:
Go to Settings and select Hard Claim.
Input the owner key and active key of the WAX external wallet you want to co-own your blockchain account with.
Verify the ownership of the keys by clicking on the verify button. You’ll then need to sign an authentication transaction on the external wallet.

If you’re using a non-blockchain account on My Cloud Wallet, you’ll notice an option to “Link to Existing Blockchain Account.” By clicking on this button, you’ll be guided through a series of steps presented on the screen.
To complete the setup, you’ll need to sign a transaction, confirming the link between your Cloud Wallet account and the blockchain account.
The system will then take some time to adapt to the new blockchain account. As the process progresses, you’ll receive updates.
